Dr. Saad Saad – recap article

Dr. Saad Sadd is a world renowned pediatric surgery who was born in Palestine and was then raised in Kuwait by his parents. He has seven brothers and sisters growing up and many of his siblings have also went on to great success, including three siblings who are also surgeons. Dr. Saad Sadd attended Cairo University in Egypt and that is where he graduated second in his class and earned his medical degree. He then surprised many people, when after completing his internship in England, he chose to earn board certification in the United States. This meant that he had to undergo stricter procedures then if he was certified in another country.

 

 

After earning his degree, Dr. Saad Sadd practiced pediatric surgery in New Jersey before being offered a prestigious position as the personal pediatric surgeon for the royal family of Saudi Arabia. It was reported that he was chosen for this highly sought after position, not only because of his reputation as a pediatric surgery, but also because he spoke both Arabic and English. While serving as the personal pediatric surgeon to the royal family, Dr. Saad Sadd was based out of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital. Here he was called and was able to completed some of the most complex surgeries ever completed by a pediatric surgeon.

 

Peers of Dr. Saad Sadd respect him for many reasons and one of these is that he firmly believes that both the rich and the poor should have equal access to superb medical care. One reason he so strongly believes in that is because he, himself was raised in poverty. Dr. Saad Sadd has stated that from his mentor he learned that, “all children should be treated the same regardless of their financial status.”

 

In addition to completing thousands and thousands of surgeries, Dr. Saad Sadd has also helped develop new surgical techniques that improves surgeries in his field and has also patented two new inventions. The first of these inventions is a device that helps locate a catheter inside of a body with using a scanning machine and the second is an endoscope that has a self-contained suction component that clears fluid and allows the surgeon to view the site being operated on clearer.

 

While his career has taken him around the globe, Dr. Saad Sadd currently is practicing medicine back in New Jersey. He is associated with the Meridian Pediatric Surgical Associates which is located in Eatontown, New Jersey and specializes in thoracic and pediatric surgery. He currently holds board certifications in the areas of general surgery and pediatric surgery.
