Alliance Defending Freedom is a Safe Space for Religious Liberty   

The Alliance Defending Freedom is a nonprofit that seeks to develop a new series of case law on behalf of religious liberty. The group first came together on the morning of January 31, 1994. It was created by leaders in the global Christian community. However, this does not mean that it seeks to create laws that favor only its own group of sponsors.

The real message that the Alliance Defending Freedom seeks to share with the world is a belief that religious liberty should be shared by all. This is the reason that the group has gone out of its way to protect the rights of people whose own beliefs are rather disparate. For example, it has worked to defend people who fall under the conservative or libertarian political spectrum.

At the same time, it should also be noted the Alliance Defending Freedom works very often on behalf of many people in various locations. These include areas that are outside, as well as within, the territorial confines of the present United States. These include people such as Jehovah’s Witnesses, Mormons, Jews, Shia Muslims, and those with no beliefs.

In 1998, ADF launched the Center for Faith and Cultural Engagement (CFCE). CFCE works with faith-based organizations, churches, and ministries to defend religious liberty while retaining their integrity and independence as ministries.

The road to recognition has been a hard one. The Alliance Defending Freedom frequently contends with a great deal of extremely negative feedback. This has come from people who are ill prepared to understand the true nature of religious and political liberty. Many selfish entities have come into conflict with the ADF due to this opposition to its principles.
