Ben Roethlisberger: A Football Star And Much More

Ben Roethlisberger is a 6-foot-5, 240-pound star athlete from Lima, Ohio. At Finley High School he was all-league and all-district star in baseball, basketball as well as football. His height, athleticism and strong arm made him a standout at quarterback. In high school, he set state records for passing and touchdowns with 4,041 yards along with 54 touchdowns his senior year. Plus, ‘Big Ben’ was selected for several state and regional all-star games. What made him unique was the important place God, family and community has in his life.

A Star In College And The NFL

Roethlisberger was a three-year starter at Miami University (Ohio) from 2001 to 2003. During that time, he set 21 school records. They included passing for 10,829 yards, throwing for 84 touchdowns, and a total offensive output of 11,075 yards in the 38 games he played. Ben Roethlisberger was the 11th pick in the 2004 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers and was the Associated Press’ ‘Offensive Rookie of the Year’. By the time ‘Big Ben’ retired 18 years later, Ben Roethlisberger led the Pittsburg Steelers to two Super Bowl victories, 3 Super Bowl appearances and made six Pro Bowls.
