Tom Keane at the forefront of Microsoft´s Space Innovation

Microsoft has partnered with multiple companies to pioneer and assess novel technological solutions for space-based initiatives. Tom Keane recalls how these companies include HPE, Thales Alenia Space, NASA, Loft Orbital, and Ball Aerospace. Microsoft utilizes AI technology in collaboration with Thales Alenia Space.

 

This collaboration with Thales Alenia Space was found to conduct astronaut equipment testing on the International Space Station and facilitate the development of novel climate data applications for Earth observation. As Tom Keane informs, Microsoft has formed a collaborative partnership with Loft Orbital to devise and experiment with software applications tailored for use in space systems.

The deployment of these applications to orbiting satellites is made possible by using Microsoft Azure as Tom Keane adds. This mutually beneficial partnership presents a streamlined method for software deployment in space, unleashing fresh opportunities in remote sensing and on-orbit automation. Microsoft has partnered with Ball Aerospace to showcase on-orbit processing technologies that can be reconfigured, utilizing the Azure Cloud, with the help of a range of on-orbit testbed satellites. 

 

Microsoft has partnered with industry leaders such as Blackshark.ai, Orbital Insight, and Esri to provide cutting-edge geospatial intelligence and remote sensing AI capabilities (Twitter). 

 

At Microsoft Corporation, by leveraging the power of Azure Synapse Analytics, Blackshark.ai’s comprehensive geospatial platform, which includes Orca analytics service utilizing satellite and aerial imagery, can now be utilized for critical applications such as mapping services and disaster relief planning.
