Freedom Rings Brightly With The Alliance Defending Freedom

Freedom rings brightly with the Alliance Defending Freedom, a Christian organization founded in 1994 to restore the balance of freedom caused by injustices, whether it be from governments or individuals who attempt to take that right away.

Noticeably, a law and advocacy organization, the Alliance Defending Freedom leaders has noticed that when it comes to religious freedom, it is not just fringe religions that are being trampled over. Instead, today it is often those in the minority who are being challenged by school boards, teachers, and those in city, state, and national government.

And if that means fighting back with peaceful but lawful applications and challenges of law, so be it.

For example, take the legal case of the Masterpiece Cakeshop vs. The Colorado Civil Rights Commission.

In this case, cake artist Jack Phillips joyfully created decorative cakes for people celebrating all kinds of events, but Mr. Phillips declined to create a cake for a same-sex wedding, citing his religious objections.

The State of Colorado informed Mr. Phillips that he must create such decorative cakes regardless of his personal beliefs under Colorado law, and the case went all the way to the Supreme Court after Mr. Phillips and his representatives lost in Colorado courts.

Upon reaching the Supreme Court, the conservative majority in the court affirmed Mr. Phillips and other religious believers from being under such restrictive laws, and now governments are on notice everywhere to be cautious about restricting religious rights.

And this is not a unique case. Representatives of the Alliance Defending Freedom have been involved in 74 Supreme Court Cases alone.

But this is merely a beginning. Whether it is protecting students who are subjected to radical, race-based education theories, protecting the sanctity of life in the case of a young Marine in a coma whose estranged wife wanted him to die by denying him food and water, protecting students’ rights to have free speech in the case of creating student organizations or protecting discriminated minorities internationally, ADF may indeed be opposing anti-religious bigotry.
