Gino Pozzo, And Expert At Football Recruiting

Some men are born to be entrepreneurs. Some are born to become wealthy industrialists. Some are born to excel at sports ownership or sports recruiting. Gino Pozzo is one of those very unique individuals who have done all of the above.

A part of the wealthy industrialist Pozzo family who made a fortune in woodworking, tool making, property management, financial management, and more, Gino loved every part of the business world. However, the family’s passion was football.

Based out of Italy, the family ate and breathed the Udinese Calcio football club, like many other Italians.

However, it’s possible to love a football club no matter where they are from yet see their gradual decline.

And in 1998 the family patriarch, Giampaolo bought their loved Udinese Calcio club.

However, the team had a number of dark years before being completely turned around, and the credit went as much to their son, Gino Pozzo as to anything else.

Gino, when he was age 18, moved to the United States to attend university, and not just any university but the distinguished Harvard University.

After obtaining his master’s degree Gino became the recruiter for the family’s football team and he was so successful that he is credited with completely turning the club’s fortunes around.

Then Gino, having married a Catalan woman, Carla, moved to Spain and spent 20 years there. And with his family’s money, they duplicated their success in Italy by buying the Granada FC football club in Granda, Spain.

Gino, who has as many as 30 recruiters scouring people as far away as South America and Eastern Europe duplicated the Udinese Calico miracle and completely turned the club around.

Then in 2012, the family purchased the Watford Football Club in the UK and once again a miracle happened; down on their luck football club was completely turned around.

Up until the time the family eventually sold the Spanish football club, Gino Pozzo and his family were the only people ever to own three football clubs simultaneously, and today Gino, who lives just outside London, is currently still active in running the Waterford Football Club.
