Natixis Board Appointments.

John Hailer, a panel member, has been chosen to temporarily replace Jeffrey B. Rudman, who is stepping down as chairman. According to the Globe, a seasoned sales associate who rejected Hailer’s romantic approaches filed a discrimination and misconduct case against the Natixis Global Financial Advisory chief executive officer. The firm, in court documents, disputed the claims and claimed the saleslady was let go due to poor performance. In 2011, however, Natixis signed a confidential $7 million settlement.

Exec at Natixis John Hailer had the overwhelming backing of the committee. He manages the company’s financial advisory subsidiaries in the Americas and Asia and controls the company’s global network plans. Originally from Roslindale, the 54-year-old was named to the libraries committee in March 2013 by Thomas M. Menino, mayor before Walsh. As the new supervisory board, Hailer is confident in his role and believes his expertise will benefit the libraries during this change.

He was questioned about the molestation case several years earlier when John Hailer was designated temporary chairman. According to the Globe, a seasoned saleswoman who was sacked from Natixis in 2008 filed a lawsuit after being terminated just one day after informing a diverse workforce that she was expecting her second child and shortly after reportedly rejecting sexual approaches from Hailer.

Hailer has said that he is confident in his new role as chairman of the board and believes his expertise will benefit the library at this time of change. In a question and answer session, Hailer expressed his regret at being included in the complaint and explained that the one false claim against him pales in comparison to the years of dedicated effort he has put in. He said that the directors on the business board had examined the administrative and administrative policies of the firm and had reiterated their trust in the corporation’s organizational structure and culture.
