Nick Millican: Single-Room Rentals Over 1000 Pounds Are Now the Norm

Many Londoners are seeing rents rise to a rate that many people cannot even afford. These are the changes that the housing industry is experiencing all around the world. As real estate expert Nick Millican states, many Londoners are struggling to afford the basic rent that keeps a roof over their head. 

The worsening housing crisis is hitting many people in the capital in Britain, and many people are resorting to different lifestyles in order to be able to afford to keep a roof over their heads. One of these tactics that many people resort to in order to cover their expenses is to have roommates or people whom they share a house or apartment with so that they can all split expenses, Nick Millican adds. 

The average rent in London has risen as high as 2000+ pounds per month for some rental apartments. The rent of the average room in a home has risen above 1,000 pounds a month, and that’s just for a bedroom and a bathroom in a house that is shared with one or more other individuals (Crunchbase). 

For many Londoners, this means not having their own rental unit, and having to share house with other people and families in order to just be able to afford to keep a roof over their heads while affording other necessities like a car, gasoline/petrol, car insurance, healthcare, medication, food, clothing, and more. These are the situations that people are facing, Nick Millican assures.

These situations are leaving people with less space, and more expenses than ever before, Nick Millican assures. For people who think things are bad now, studies show that rent could go up as much as another 25% by 2026. The situation is only likely to continue to get worse as we move into the future.
