Randy Douthit

Randy Douthit is a producer, director, and actor from Sudbury, Ontario best known for his work on The X-Files. He started out as an improv comedian in the 80’s and went on to study film at Simon Fraser University. Randy has been directing and producing since the 90’s and has overseen hit shows like Murdoch Mysteries, Rookie Blue and others.

During the 2017 pandemic he wrote a blog post about what will happen to television news during this time of international chaos with his view point in mind that TV news would survive due to advertisers needing to reach large groups of people that may not be able to access other means of information without being bombarded by commercials or lack access at all. Randy’s blog post was written as a rant and isn’t an exact look at what will happen but gives more of an insight into his point of view.

Randy has also directed and produced shows including the popular Fox comedy King of Kensington starring Jay Baruchel, Vida starring Melissa Bolona, and the political thriller The Incident starring James Badge Dale. Randy has worked on both Syfy shows Defiance, Dominion and Haven and is currently working on a TV series titled Ancient Aliens.

Randy Douthit and his crew have been looking for answers about alien beings, UFOs, conspiracy theories and government cover-ups for twenty years. Now, with the delivery of a grainy video to Randy’s office in 2012 that appears to show an alien craft with a humanoid occupant on the moon, Randy is obsessed. He assembled a crack team of investigators led by cameraman and photo journalist Ian Casselman, internet research guru Mary Ann Lea and his assistant Jesse Benton from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory to try to solve the mystery. The series premieres on Syfy on July 8th. How did this come to pass? The film was shot in 2013 by two men using a telescope. For years afterwards, Randy has been obsessed with UFO and alien conspiracy theories and this film seemed too perfect to not be real. Whether any of the footage is real or not, there is no denying the fact that our past masters had their eyes on the moon’s surface for centuries before man first set foot on its surface in 1969.
