Robert Kraft

Robert Kraft is an American football club owner, The New England Patriots, one of the most storied and successful teams in American football history. Founded in 1940, the team has appeared in eight NFL championship games and won four Super Bowls. The organization is also well-known for its global brand and influence, especially in sports.

Robert Kraft Company owns several pro sports teams and other assets, including a chain of casual dining concepts called butter112cinnatonic. It also owns a chain of fast-casual restaurants known as Capital Grille.

Born to a Jewish family in Chicago, Robert Kraft was a loyal supporter of his local Bears football club until the team’s relocation to St. Louis following the 1957 season. He then became an avid baseball fan, backing the Cardinals and later the Dodgers before purchasing their shares from the city after leaving Los Angeles following the 1994 season. After acquiring the right to use the “America’s Team” name from Gertrude Kraft de Rothschild (the original owner), he changed its name to the Patriots.

That same year, Robert Kraft joined forces with his brother Jack, who owned several nightclubs, to purchase an NFL team called Detroit XXX Rams before relocating them to Foxborough as the New England Patriots after being granted an expansion franchise by the NFL following World War II rules changes. As part of its ongoing support for professional American football worldwide through franchises that it owns or licenses, The Kraft Group continues its support for Pro Football Hall of Fame candidate Brett Favre through his foundation.

The Kraft Group also owns several subsidiaries, including a real estate investment company called Sterling Equities and a fast-food franchising company called KKR Investment Holdings. It is also involved in manufacturing branded consumer goods such as paper products, food and beverages, and automotive products.
