DOUG HAYNES SUCCESS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

DoughDoug Haynes is the The Council’s president, a top counselor, and a philanthropist. He has worked with Point72 Asset Management, McKinsey & Company, McKinsey High-Tech industry, GE Plastics Business Group, and US Central Intelligence Agency. Hayes graduated from West Virginia University and got his Summa Cum Laude in mechanical engineering. From the Darden School of Business he was a Shermet Scholar.

Doug Haynes has participated in philanthropic activities fighting poverty, supporting education projects and veterans. He is the founding member of The Global Enterprise, Cohen Veteran’s Network, and Cohen Veteran’s Bioscience. He is a member of the board of the Camp Southern Ground, Georgia and Robin Hood Foundation, New York. Haynes is an advisor to many start-up companies like Vega Factor, ChainIQ, FRISQ, and the Obsidian Asset Management. He is an advisor and board member of Darden Business School, Singtel Corporation, Villanova University, Canterbury School, and Randolph Macon Academy. Dough resides in Scarborough, New York, with his five children and Laurice, his wife.

Doug’s background is in engineering, computer programming, and mathematics, but he learned about management consulting while in business school. His work experience shaped his role as a CEO in different companies. Before retiring, he worked for McKinsey & Company and understood the various challenges faced by CEOs. His four-year experience prepared him for the job, and he became a CEO advisor. Interactions with clients and colleagues made him understand the diversity in industries, problems and got new ideas. It made him energetic for the role and a purpose for his new career.

Interesting facts about Doug Hayes, he spares an hour a day to write a book; he has written four so far. He believes to be productive requires discipline. And does not let technology control his life. Green technologies interest him through the innovations to produce green products, services, and packaging. He believes that do every work in the best way possible and have integrity. One should have faith, be dedicated to their work, and avoid doubting yourself. Doug believes that failure is part of life, but with discipline and focus, everything is possible.
